to all the fresheez!
herez a major piece of advice! if u planning on to sticking with FA and UW for ur Step 1 prep. I would suggest u to get ur hands on First Aid Cases for USMLE Step 1. do it with ur first read of FA. its an excellent book. prepares u for the storm which comes with UW! it warms u up real good. its simple and easy book. not a big brainer. not so consuming. yet very fruitful. considering it puts ur FA knowledge in Question Form!
In fact if I'm not wrong. these Cases were actually present in the old versions of FA. but they have removed it now and compiled it in this Book form.
Again it won't be needed who have done or are doing USMLE Rx or Kaplan Qbank or any other Qbank before they do their UWORLD. just for those Who jump directly to UW as their Major learning tool!!
goodluck
I need some help with this book. I have it along with UCV and I actually have no idea how to use them. Are you just reading through them or are you trying to use them as an activity??
i did pharm from this book and yes as u said it was simple and easy, but again you learn some points.i think for those who do just UW Q bank and no other Qbanks and usual books it is helpful.i agree with shyangel
UCV= Underground clinical vignettes. It the same set up as the FA cases and it also from the same authors of FA but there are a ton more cases as they dedicate a book to each subject. I currently have 4 of those books given to my a friend along with the FA cases and I have no idea how to use them...
then DONT use UCV! its not required!! use more sortafter qbanks for practice sake. FA Cases is jus a happy merrygoround form of going thru ur FA! fun and integrative! its not to asses ur knowledge like other qbanks. but it prepares u for what u'll b facing in the future!
