So now I am not watching videos and just going through notes shall I repeat video or continue with notes and now all I am doing is mugging Kaplan notes and not practicing questions.

I am planning to at least give a good reading to all subject first from Kaplan notes and first aid and then to buy a online question bank and revise it again with it practice it for 2 or 3 months then give step 1.

Right now I am not scoring good on kaplan PLS system I am really very scared and I feel is there so much to mug up what subject are most important. I know I wasted my time before but now I am trying to give my best plz help me I am planning to give in may or June 2011

Arrow Do not be scared

You don't need to watch the videos again.

Just finish reading your Kaplan Notes and the FA and then do the Qbanks.

Do not be scared, it's completely normal to feel lost while you read for Step 1. It's a huge exam and nobody can master everything or feel comfortable while doing it.

All subjects are important, do not skip any Kaplan book, read them all.

I find that if I have to read a lot of information, like more than about 20 pages at a time, by the time I get done reading I forgot a lot of what I read. I think this is true for many people because reading is passive learning. One way to actively learn the material is to break up your reading with questions. So after you read a chapter or so, do some questions related to that chapter to make sure you understood what you read. You don't have to use a Qbank for this, use book sources such as FA Q&A, Kaplan Qbook, WebPath, WikiTestPrep .. etc. If you want to spend a little money, gunnertraining is this flashcard site that give lots of questions and help you remember things long term.

Its actually okay to be doing bad right now! The more questions you get wrong.. the more you learn!!! I am not kidding, but you learn a whole lot more if you go back to the questions you got wrong and read the explanations!

I would suggest that you get some pharm cards or what ever subject you feel is a tough one that just seems to "never stick".

I remember when i did my first nbme, i did garbage in Behavioral science.. so i decided that i wanted that 2 be my best subject the month before my exam.. so i read the High Yield version of Behavioral Science each day.. maybe about 1-2 chapters a day, but what i also did was that every day i read new chapters... i went back 2 the old chapters and only read the tables... I kid you not, but u remember everything by doing this... I wish i had done it more before my exam which i think would of launched my usmle world assessement avg from 224 to the 240's by doing that method!! Wrote my exam on dec 17th and have no idea what 2 feel about it!! But im just hoping i get my dream score of 232.. or at least a pass haha! But pick a short little handy book 2 read along side the PLS and i promise if you review old chapters everyday... you will see results as you do more and more q's each day.
