USMLEWorld Help me figure out my weak areas in USMLE World

Hello friends,
I just completed my UW first pass and attached is my score analysis. Can you tell me how to determine weak areas. do you think any subject that I got less than 65% should be my weak area.....etc. I did NBME 1 few months ago and I got 450/212 as base and in few days I will do NBME 7 and decide my exam date. I'm thinking end of Jan or early Feb.

Thanks folks.

My lowest score was 60% and highest 84%

here is a breakdown:

73% = 7 blocks
80% = 4 blocks
65% = 3 blocks
71% = 6 blocks
69% = 5 blocks
67% = 3 blokcs
76% = 8 blocks
60% = 1 block
82% = 2 blocks
78% = 1 block
63% = 2 blocks
84% = 3 blocks
75% = 1 block.

Honestly my only goal is to figure out the weak areas. for assessment I will rely on NBME. I know this is a good score but I have more trust in NBMEs. thanks comrades.

Arrow Do NBME right now

I think your NBME1 score did not really represent your full potential. Your UW score is amazing and you should be in the 230-240 range, not 212!

I urge you to do another NBME right now and see what it predicts.

If it still predict below 230 then come back to your UW break down and see what you need to focus on.

you kidding me... people who score 60-65 get 230-240... your score should honestly be around the 250's-260's... i dont understand your nbme score either... i came out of uworld with a 57-59 average and got a 480 in nbme 1... and a 520(224) in UWSA 1 four days before my usmle... try to do the prometric practice exam or something tommorrow 2 see where ur actual score is.. ur nbme 1 was probably a fluke cause its obvious your much more better than your nbme 1 shows you 2 be... its okay, everyone is allowed a few fluke exams before there step 1, but try to get more consistent results in the future.

I think you know most of your material and there isn't much to learn... unless u wanted 2 do another qbank... but what good would that do, its obvious you know most of the things already.... i guess do all the incorrect questions you got in the qbank and try to learn from that?

It seems that his NBME 1 was done a few months ago, it's therefore possible that with his studying his UW score went up since then. So I don't think that NBME was necessarily a fluke. If he were to take an NBME now, it would be in a high range that you guys think it should be.

Hello friends. actually i did the NBME 1 before UW so it's possible that I picked up alot of info in my subsequent readings and that NBME 1 also underestimated my true potential at that time. I mean if my base of UW was 60% atleast NBME 1 should come close to 60%UW predictions. In any case, i rely more on NBMEs than UW thus I will do NBMEs all of them to see the true prediction. I'm now finishing my second reading hopefully this friday then will do NBME 7.

Let's say if my NBME 7 is not satisfying, can I re-do it after further reading. I'm thinking this is a good idea, because if I dont know the answers and I didnt memorize the questions then the second time should reflect the true gain in knowledge. what do you think friends?

Thanks guys for giving me hope that I can potentially score well. For some reason I think I can get 230 but beyong this it's a wild dream for me. I'm not very good memorizer, I'm very much conceptual person and since there is alot of factoids in this exam, i'm doubting my ability to score very high as you guys indicate. but who knows.... time will tell.

so if you were in my shoes how would you figure ur weak areas based on the attached score sheet?

thanks guys and please let me know if I can be of any help in any way as you are helping me too.

Default Don't be obsessive!

Just listen to what Sabio told you.
You don't need to look for weak areas.
Just do NBME and see the prediction.
I am sure it will predict over 240 for you this time.
Don't be obsessive!

You're done with your UW review at this point and I would strongly recommend scheduling a date in the next few weeks before you forget things. I see a great score coming. As you know - do your NBMEs and do your final stretch studying as you were planning to I'm sure and you'll be good to go. Make sure you've sat 8 hours in a row as well.

But defnintely schedule your test soon - trust me - even the best of us can forget things.
