I think it is it referring to particular gene frequency in the population/ethnic group. For example, the gene frequency for cystic fibrosis is high in whites and Tay Sachs in Ashkenazi Jews.

Right?

ONLY SEEN IN AUTOSOMAL RECESSIVE.

HIGH heterozygote frequency MEANS that it is more LIKELY to have kids WITH the heterozygote pattern of an AR disease and it is commonly due to having high number of carriers in a family.
CYSTIC FIBROSIS is one of the most common diseases in which you see HIGH H.F.

LOW heterozygote frequency means that it is LESS likely to have a kid with an AR heterozygote pattern than normal.

SO i had a question in NBME 11 (STOP READING THIS if planning to take it)

which mentioned an AR disease in a kid and his cousin, they wanted to know why?
so upon research after i had that question wrong i came with two conclusions:
You ONLY can see that due to :
1-High heterozygote frequency and 2-COsanguinity

thats how i understood it, feel free to correct me.
