Default s1 elegibility period started, but still not certified

hi,

I have a quick question. I've paid for my step 1 exam and my "certification of identification form" status is currently "In Process" (they just received my papers 8 days ago), thing is the eligibility period i had paid for is March-april-May, but im still not certified. Is my eligibility running out? I called my university and they told me the whole process to get my permit once i paid was ten days, thats why i made the stupid decision of picking that eligibility period, but now i'm concern what if my eligibility period runs out?

Sabio...Steptaker...any idea of what would happen?

if your period is until may, you should be fine. it usually takes a while for the whole process of approval and being certified, esp with processing of form 186. took almost 2 months for me. your best bet is calling ecfmg directly and ask them whats going on...

my period is feb-march-april, and i just got my permit at the beginning of march.

Default identification of certification form verified

hey guys i just wanted to post the outcome of my situation, so others going through similar thing dont freak out.

i called the ecfmg and if your certification of identification from is not processed by 3 weeks, they automatically move your eligibility period to start on the next month

ie: my case march-april-may, if my verification is not done by the 25th, my eligibility period will be "april- may -june"....which is a GREAT relief 'cuz my med school's administrative side SUCKS!

Btw Thanks granuloma for the advice!
