Default Rumor: Step 3 a requirement?

Hi everyone. I just heard a rumor that Step 3 will be a requirement for the next application cycle. Is this true?

This is news to me. Where did you hear that? Any official source?
I checked the ECFMG news and there is nothing in there about it.

No, no official source. But it scared me enough to make sure that this is a rumor. If possible, can someone please call ecfmg and ask them? I couldn't find anything on their site either, and my phone is unavailable today.

i think it is just a rumor at the moment.

ECFMG is not aware of it via phone. everything is status quo at the moment.

The lady i spoke to said to score well on step 1 and step 2 and I would have a great chance of pre-match.

hope that helps.
