Default Postponing the USMLEs after registering for an earlier date

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the USMLE forums, in a pretty tight situation now. I'm about to register for my USMLEs for this July, but I'm not too sure if I will be prepared then. Is it possible to register for the USMLEs in July, and then postpone it to a later period, not within the selected three-month period, for example in December?

Thank you so much!!

You're able to request a one-time eligibility period extension (there's fee for this). This period falls in the 3-month period immediately after your original period ends. After that, you'll have to apply all over again.

You can read more about this on the USMLE website here.
