Neuro Regions of the cerebral cortex

Do we need to know the number corresponding to various parts of the cortex, for example that Broca's is area 45, Wernicke's is 22, etc? FA doesn't list these, so I'm wondering. If anyone has seen this tested please let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

OMG the numbering stuff is so confusing with no correlation with each other what so ever, how can v memorize it all , and people say USMLE is about understanding. can anyone come up with a good mnemonic for these Brodmann areas, that would be a great help

I don't think you need to memorize the numbers. All they can do on the exam is show you a cross section and ask about what area corresponds to a highlighted/marked part. So you just need to know their locations and what they do.

That's great to know! I really don't think I have space in my brain for any extra info.
