Default high step 1 score......spurious or reality

If all scores on this forum are to be believed them 240+ seems to be the new mean.....and the place i am currently observing at i asked 5 ppl n the highest step 1 score i got was 236....so what's it with the step 1 score

Don't forget the important concept of bias.
The higher your scores, the more chances you will write about it in a post..and vice versa..

Scores are getting a lot higher. Since the mean is 227 and deviation 22 approximately 20% or so would be over 245. Considering the number that sit for the exam that's a whole lot of people.

This is called reporting bias. And there is also lot of misinformation also as people overstate their scores somtimes!!!

ive been asking myself the same q. i feel exactly the same way, when i do my test i will post my score report, no matter if its good or bad.

There was this same argument 3weeks ago about a guy who scored 265 in step one which lead to him actually uploading the score report for all to see.Its some where cant find it.There is no reason to doubt.I want to be the best too.doesnt matter is some lie.

GOD I NEED A GOOD SCORE
