Help Getting low score in Behavioral Sciences

Hi guys,

I m doing UW these days, I am getting good score in 70's but in behavioral science it's only 29th percentile, I have done behavioral science from Kaplan and FA, may be it's because of the fact that here in India we don't have Behavioral sciences in our curriculum, is there any way to improve my score?

My major problems:

1) Ethics questions, very confusing, I usually left with 2 options both of which seems to be correct, ultimately getting the wrong one picked reduce my score.

2) Defense mechanism, bias questions, in UW they are using new topics that are not even in Kaplan and FA.

3) Probability questions, its always confusing, combined, independent and all......

my exam is in March 1st week and I am only halfway through my UW, I think I am short of time....

Any suggestion to improve my score? or it's better to focus on my strong points only, as i mentioned even after the low score in behavioral sciences, I am getting high 70's cumulative??????

pls reply ASAP.......

Arrow Suggestions

All IMGs score very low in behavioral sciences and medicolegal and ethics issues. This is because they are not exposed yet to the US health care system and are unaware of the social issues that impact the communities in USA.

Therefore, your low score is absolutely normal and your are on the 29th percentile maybe because the 71% of students above you are all AMGs!

This isssue has been discussed in depth before here
Behavioral Science complex

The behavioral sciences, ethics, and statistics are one of the most difficult topics in USMLE Exam as the following poll suggest:
The most difficult subject in USMLE Step 1

Your best bet is to continue practice questions as much as you can.

UW can also tell you how you are doing in the divisions of behavioral sciences, see if you are also weak in the biostats section as well, if it is the case I suggest you purchase the biostat USMLE Qbank if you have the time for it.

Also in addition to the resources you mentioned there is this book
Kaplan Medical USMLE Medical Ethics: The 100 Cases You Are Most Likely to See on the Exam (Kaplan USMLE)
That book is great and will improve your concepts in ethics tremendously and am sure you'll start to answer ethics questions much more easily.
