I think that's a good idea. Based on how many people we have, we can make a skype group. I'm sure we can motivate each other.

I can understand stuff but cant memorization at this point is nil. thinking of doing first Aid Q n A with the corrosponding chapters of FA. Any critics welcome to improve

Default Hey

I agree, FA is the ultimate source of memorisation and Rx only facilitates the process. That being said, I'm still having a tough time remembering the stuff from my first time FA read.

I started UWorld 3 days back, doing subject wise, timed, 1 block per subject (so that I'll have enough q's to do random blocks later.) Doing FA (2x) simultaneously.

Hope to finish Rx anytime between May10-15 if I stick to schedule.

Regarding the skype group, since we're all at different stages, the best thing to discuss would be FA doubts + general motivation of course . The other alternative would be to exchange email addresses and clarify doubts/questions that way. Count me in.

If you have not made alot of annotations on your 2013 copy then I suggest you get 2014. There are many additions in every chapter. I am not sure how important those additions are but because all I hear is Fa is very important so I guess getting 2014 edition will be a good bet

if you havent annotated your 2013 version yet, i would say go for 2014.

I'm on the same path.. finished kaplan videos + pathoma once.. starting kaplan notes once again with FA and started with goljan audio.. planning to do usmlerx also with FA.. as i've read in the forum that it helps memorizing FA better.. good luck.. hope we are doing it right...

I think FA 2013 is fine
I compared some chapters between both and there are no big differences , some additional pictures and graphs are found in 2014 , but The Main concepts are not changed and I did not see really new topics ( in the chapters that I checked) , so I decided to continue using FA 2013 since it is annotated and my visual memory is from FA 2013 .. I am sure if there is a major new concept in 2014 it would be found in Uworld
good luck

thinking of september...I have studied Kaplan once...doing uworld(subject) with kaplan 2nd time+FA...After finishing with neurology and cardiology which I think are the greatest in size(40%of questions in uworld) in a month the rest of it seems to flow more quickly..I don't care about the scores for now...I am using uworld as a learning tool...I hope i will have good score on the NBME after finishing...any suggestions?

Default Step 1

Hi Friends

I am new one in this forum. Please share your idea and experiences.

I am preparing USMLE Step 1 ,my exam is at June- July.

I am scoring around 74%- 75% in Question & Answer books i.e. Kaplan sixth edition Q book,First Aid Q book,Lippincott online 350 question and other Q bank.

Unfortunately I still have not done USMLE world & NBME online practice test.

Is it signifies that I will score 230+ in Step 1?

Please share your expertise
Thanks in advance

I have the same feeling...that I almost forgetting all what I have read...but doing FA & the questions definitely will help us memorize & retain what we have learned...so keep ur goal high & work hard to reach it
