I think UW is purposely hard in order for you to learn from your mistakes. My friends said that UW is more like a learning tools rather than assessment tools so I won't worry much about that. However I suggest u to revise the materials one more time because we tend to grasp more knowledge after the second revision.

thanks a lot @harlesmd..

Actually I did pathophysio 2 times..my first read was 7 months back but due to some gap I didn't remember anything.
so this read was just like my first read.
First I planned to do Kaplan qbank but then i switch to UWorld.
I am clearing some difficult concepts from UWorld.
hope i will be able to improve it.
thanks once again.

good luck.

USMLE world isn't exactly a qbank i would want to start my studies off with. it's overly hard for even the people who do good in the exam to do well in.. I would recommend to start off with an easier qbank such as consult or usmle rx.. and then move on to kaplan qbank or world... But since you already have the qbank now.. Dont worry about your grades, but worry more about the material you are currently learning. Make sure you go over all explanations in great detail and understanding.

Idea! Do timed random blocks

I suggest you don't do blocks of a single subject for one important reason; when you get an answer wrong, read the explanation, and learn from your mistake, you gain the chance of answering a similar question correctly the next time you are presented with it. Now when you're doing similar questions in a row, especially if in a timed mode, you're not reading any explanations along the way, and you might end up with most of the questions solved incorrectly.

That's not good from educational, psychological, and even practical perspectives. It's non-educational because you lose the chance of active learning, which is applying the knowledge you learned on other questions, since they had all been consumed. It's devastating psychologically because you feel you know nothing. It's unpractical because the exam itself randomly throws at you questions from all subjects.

Don't do selective subjects, atleast thats what I have learnt so far. Plus come on! just three blocks? Thats way too early to be worried. Most of us take uworld as an assessment but its actually for learning. In a way the whole lower than expected score pushes us to work harder which is good. Plus like I read on this form that initially the scores are low but after some time, when you regularly review the tests and make notes, the scores start rising since most of the concepts are repeated. So don't worry, give it some time and review the explanations thoroughly.
