Default How to use uworld when studying?

hello. i am at a carribean medical school, going into my last semester here, before I begin MD5 which is a intro to clinical skills and usmle prep program from august to december. I have completed till now Path I, Neuroanatomy, Microbiology/Immunology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Histology.

I have been extensively using kaplan lecture notes and kaplan medessentials and know it very well. Instead of using first aid, I will be using kaplan medessentials because of my familiarity with it. Only for microbiology I will be using first aid

I just bought uworld, and am doing about 17 questions a day, annotating nearly everything into my kaplan medessentials book. I am doing it under untimed tutor mode, but despite me doing well in school, I am not doing well on these questions on the subjects I have all ready done. Once I see the answer, I completely understand it, and know it, but I miss it originally. I am worried with my performance on uworld. My goal is to have all of uworld annotated into my kaplan medessentials book, before I begin my MD5 semester so I can spend MD5 just reviewing Kaplan Medessentials, the uworld annotations, and doing as well at that time Kaplan Qbook, First Aid Q and A, and NMS Usmle Step 1 question book.

My question is that if I know EVERYTHING in kaplan medessentials and know all of the uworld annotations, can I at least expect to pass? Is this a good plan? Should I be worried that I am not doing well on uworld questions when it is on untimed tutor mode, but I do learn a lot and it is all making sense, when I read the answer explanations?

Also, I dont plan to buy kaplan qbank or usmlerx. Instead I plan to do the qbooks as just an extra source for questions. Is this okay? thank you

Man U need FA too. I have not used medessential but I will think FA is better since larger percentage use FA. For the least go through FA in addition to ur medessential.
Other qbank. It depends on how u will do in ur first nbme.
If u know what u hv mentioned so well. Man U have even bypass a pass mark but why are u missing questions in uworld and doing poorly? U shd be scoring above 55% of uworld to be safe.
Uworld is just a learning tool and nothing else not for assessment. Man it's good to even get all wrong and learn from it than score all right and think u know it so well.

medessentials is basically kaplan notes in short form, not worth it. better use FA as nsesereso advised.
FA+UW!! that's the key

thank you for all your responses. So uworld tests the most common concepts seen on step 1? I have compared first aid and kaplan medessentials, and they are the same. Most people use first aid, if they have not looked at kaplan lecture notes, as kaplan medessentials is only comprehensible if one has been using kaplan lecture notes extensively.

but if I know everything in uworld and kaplan medessentials, what kind of score can I expect to get? I plan to compound the practice as Ive stated with kaplan qbook, first aid q and a, and NMS USMLE step 1 question book
