Correct Answer My step 1 243 experience

Hi all
I am a senior medical student. The MD program in my country is six years long.

First of all I consider myself a top class medical student in an average medical school.
I once had no. 1 GPA, then I fell for a girl. The love was not reciprocated and I went into a journey of bewilderment and loss of my focus! However, this last year I kind of waked up!

BTW I'm into Neurosurgery! [ns111 stands for NeuroSurgeon] and at a time I considered Germany as my first option and I overlooked the USMLE!

Anyways at the time of the elective course, I went to Texas Heart Institute! I did the CS and passed! And then came back to my home country very determinant to complete the journey!

I started step 1. I did FA 2013 4 times and UW! That is it! I did no Kaplans no videos no other things!
I did 2 NMBEs
NMBE 15 midway through 3rd time FA 228
NMBE 16 after UW around 17 days left 239
Uworld timed subject based 76% correct first time
Second time did wrong and marked q.s.

In last 6 days before the exam I did the last or 4th time FA.

The exam day I found the first 2 blocks hard marked around 15 q.s. other blocks marked around 4-5 q.s.
As a general impression of the exam I found it easier than UW and NMBEs. But felt like genetics immuno psyhiatry and biostatics the most difficult!

I can't hide that I'm very self-confident and the type of assertive person ... I think this helped in a way too!

I aimed for a 260+ regardless of the NMBESs but post exam and before I got the result I was very concerned to get 240s. Because to me that is a safe margin!

Now I'm into a month of final exams 4 written and 4 oral! And today I gave an IM OSCE !!
after that month and graduation, I'll go into the CK to go into 2015 match God willing...

I am open for your questions and if you have any suggestions

Default Step 1 preparation for june-July

Hi NS 111
Congratulation for very good score ,keep up with similar score in Step 2 CK also

I am new one in this forum. Please share your idea and experiences.

I am preparing USMLE Step 1 ,my exam is at June- July.

I am scoring around 74%- 75% in average in each Question & Answer books i.e. Kaplan sixth edition Q book,First Aid Q book,Lippincott online 350 question and other Q books.

Unfortunately I still have not done USMLE world & NBME online practice test.

Does it signify that I will score 230+ in Step 1?

Please share your experience
Thanks in advance

NMBE is the only predictor it works like magic!
% correct isn't a predictor
It's very important to do UWORLD and read the explanation. I had answered in exam a q wrongly the same q I had in UW(I repeated my mistake) LOL
So take UW by heart as much as FA

Essentially no NMBE like q I mean one line q
I may say around 10 q very very long I say 2 screens
Most of the q.s are half the screen...
Few direct short q.s
