Unhappy 10 Weeks remaining.. I NEED UR HELP..

I am an IMG, YOG 2012.

It has been almost a YEAR since I started studying for Step 1.
During this period I suffered from several "OFF" days/weeks and even months; depressed and not studying..
I tried several times to encourage myself and keep positive, so I payed and scheduled my exam; it worked and I completed the first read (Pathoma/BRS physiology/ Kaplan notes and videos for others) + annotating to my FA.

THEN! I stopped studying.. and it has been 3 months "OFF" now...

Please I NEED UR HELP.

My exam is after 10 weeks.. I MUST do it, and I want to do it! no more extension is allowed and no need for more gap months!!
No NBMEs done and UW not activated yet.

Honestly I feel guilty and u can say I feel ashamed.. but I believe I can do a great job; I am just not studying! Btw my school performance was above average.

Please anyone tell me how can I do my best during the remaining 10 weeks.

Thanks!

Default 10 weeks is really good time

i am new to this forum but i think i can share my experience with you from step 1 .... i scored a 212 i am not proud but either ashamed ... i am married with mandatory social compromises a debt and 3 diffents work shifts 24/7 so i had very little time for study ... i used only two books which are short and easy to read ... first aid step 1 and usmle step 1 secrets ... i read tem at least 2 times each completely on spare time and tried to focus on those areas where i felt weak (in my case behavioarl science and suprisingly inmunology) actually those to where the culprit for my score really really put attention to behavioral science as img i was not prepared on my school for those types of cuestions .... the other thing is practice the exam using the simulator the cuestions are really logic you can crack many correct answers by learning how to logically resolve the cuestion i wasnt as prepared as i wished for the exam but that helped me at least score over 200 ... i really wish i could had have those 10 weeks you have now i could have surely scored more i hope this can help you recently graduated without my complicated life .. just donīt let fear take you down ... anything is possible ...

My advice is to start UW Qbank since you've completed your first read of the materials. Do random blocks of 46 questions (timed) and review every question in detail. After completing the UW, take an NBME to find out how prepared you are. I feel the outcome of the NBME should then guide your decision on whether to go ahead with the test as scheduled or extend your eligibility/ reschedule.
Best of luck!

Hi! I suggest you should activate uw, practice with it and FA. And took nbmes including latest one,16. Use last moments wisely. Don't look back!

Good luck!

Hello.
I think the above comments are right. I think you should focus on FA and UW and NBME.You have two months to do that. that's my advice. Depends on the results in the NBME, you can postpone the exam. You have to study very hard.Good lucky.

OK see, if you THINK you need to see a psychiatrist (referring to what you posted on my post) then you should definitely see one. You need a bit of good counselling and friends who are studying around you.
Now that you are done with the first read, I will agree with what everyone said. Start UW!!
Once you start UW, you'll know where you stand.
Don't panic if in the initial blocks you don't score well. Do atleast 2 blocks/day and rest of the time read explanations and FA.
Just keep in mind you have a little over 2 months time. Which means you have to start giving 7-8 hours a day to it. It's a matter of 2 months and it'll be over.
Trust me, I went through the same time, but once I started UW, I felt more focused. UW will tell you what parts to concentrate on, it will guide you and will give you an insight to the course.
Once you're done with UW, do NBME 15, see how much you score. And then do NBME 16. I would suggest do NBME 15 2 weeks before the exam and then NBME 16 a week before. This will also keep you in a hang of doing timed blocks before the exam.

Just be focused. Stay in contact with people/friends who're studying the same thing, or who are done with, helps in staying focused.

Also, take atleast 6-7 hours sleep everyday. REM is important to keep all that info in the right order. Good luck!

all the suggestions above are great ones stateofart
you are doing GREAT dont panic, just from here til the exam
FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS and no more breaks again

start uworld as suggested above and you will start gaining confidence with step1 type questions + learning new stuff that only uworld has.
i finished uworld today and it took me 1 month and 1 week so you can do it too, just try to do a little bit fast (not too fast though, it backfires trust me) and after uworld FA + uworld annotations over and over again
and youll ROCK IT

Hi!
uworld has 2211 questions.
i finished uworld in one month and one week (started march 11)
1 block per day i think is 45 days (according to one post i saw before starting)
i did 1.5 to 2 blocks per day studying 12 hours. at first it took me like 6 to 7 hours per revision of block.
but once you are reviewing everything it will become faster like 4 hours 5 at tops once you pass 50% of the qbank
