my scheduling permit is no longer there, i assume that is supposed to mean i'm getting it this wed 16th ??
i took mine on the 25th. i cant remember ANYTHING, but thats voluntary. i'm trying not to think abt it till i get my result .... ( suppression )
i'm subconsciously panicking, i get periods palpitations and brief tachycardia for no reason during the day
good luck to all

Dr. Ann

congrats!!! Awesome that you leveled up that much in just a month!
Do you mind sharing the difficulty of the exam compared to NBMEs...
What was your main study source?

Again congrats!!!

kaplan plus dvds 1st 3 months
nxt 2 months : kaplan + FA + qbank subject wise
thn uwrld twice
n FA repeatedly

nbme s r a good assessment tool ...i wud definitely recommend them since they helpd me improve my real score
but xam is like uwrld
real xam : do FA n ur Uworld notes (that u make while doin uwrld) as many times as possible..that was my feelin aftr stepping outta xam

NBMEs weren't totally predictive...I started doing one a week before my exam and scored: 221, 226, 228, 226, 237. UWSA#1 = 228, UWSA#2 = 244. Uworld avg was 62%. Free 100 = 86% 2 days before. exam felt easier than NBME's and Uworld. had about 10 minutes to review each section. Ended up with a 225.
Feel slightly disappointed because was scoring higher on NBMEs. Not sure if maybe I had an "easier" exam and had to get more questions right.

well lucky you; b/c my uworld overall was 58% and last month my nbme scores were 198 form 16; 196 form 15; and 188 form 13

and my actual step score was 190; i obviously failed and it seems nbmes were pretty accurate for me in the range that i got!

I totally agree with granuloma ( NBMEs overestimates my score) I took several NBMEs ( all within 4 weeks from my exam). My lowest score was 235 ( on NBME16) and all other fell between 240-260. I took USMLE World stimulated test and I scored 245. During real exam, questions were easier than both NBME and USmleworld( only had few questions that have never heard of and were very hard and I only had to mark 3-5 each block). I thought I did great and were expecting not lower than 240. Was very relaxed during exam and was able to review all my questions except the first and second block( may be this is where I did the worst). I have a feeling that if you have an easy test then you really have to get most questions correct to score high( may be I am wrong but this is how I feel). I was a bit disappointed when I received my score as I really need a great score since I have a big gap in my career. I guess it is over now and have to accept it. Hopefully I can do better with step 2. Wish you all the best.

amystep - i feel the exact same way...it felt better than NBMEs and then the score ended up being lower...I also think the new NBME scale overestimates the predicted scores, whereas the older version they used was more accurate. And I agree - seems like if its an easier, you need to get more questions right. I've heard many stories of people having really really hard exams and ending up with high scores.

QUOTE=amystep;313801]I totally agree with granuloma ( NBMEs overestimates my score) I took several NBMEs ( all within 4 weeks from my exam). Wish you all the best.[/QUOTE]
Well, UWSA are not much better. It over predicted mine by 15 points.
