Default nbme 7 question

.

During an experiment on an isolated nerve-muscle preparation, calcium concentrations are measured in various compartments. Following stimulation of the nerve, a contraction is elicited. Which of the following in the muscle is most likely to have an increased calcium concentration as a result of the elicited contraction?

A) Cytoplasm
B) Extracellular fluid
C) Mitochondria
D) Sarcoplasmic reticulum
E) T-tubules

A as the calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum enters the cytoplasm to bind to troponin to remove tropomyosin from the myosin binding site of actin
