Urine Sample Came from Afirca with gross hematuria and multiple ova!

A 25 year old male who has recently migrated to the U.S. from Africa, reports to the ER with a chief complaint of hematuria and painful urination. A urinalysis is done which reveals gross hematuria and multiple ova. What cancer is this patient susceptible to getting?


A - Adenocarcinoma of the bladder
B - Transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder
C - Squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder
D - Squamous cell carcinoma of the penis
E - Transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis

I think this patient has schistosomiasis (though he is not from Egypt ) and this parasite will specifically increase the risk of having sguamous cell carcinoma of the bladder.

The answer is : C

I think that, even after the revolution, Egypt remains part of Africa...
