Default A different question

hello guys, hope u all are doing well..

Well mine is quiet a different question,I plan to take step 1 in sep/oct and I dint start kaplan yet.

I had prepared for Indian entrance last year,so Im quiet well versed in pharmac, micro n patho.

I actually did these 3 subjects from FA alone and was able to solve most of the question from Uworld.(2012 version,I downloaded from torrents)

Now im planning to start anat, physio and bio-chem from kaplan notes(coz i dono any of these subjects properly).

What would u guys advice about pharmac n micro?Should i go through Kaplan notes?

I got to know that Goljan RR for patho is a must,so I'll do it.

Ur reply would be highly appreciated.

pharmacology-kaplan with videos is a must
microbiology-you have the choice of kaplan or microbiology made ridiciously simple. I personally did kaplan with first aid side by side.

pathology-2 resources available-1) pathoma & 2) goljan rapid review
goljan rapid review is very detailed and will be tough to read 2x
pathoma can be reviewed many times and explanations are all
high yield. the choice is yours. If you believe goljan is a must,
then by all means go for it.

good luck with your studies

For micro, I really liked microbiology made ridiculously simple. It's generally a well-rated book by other test-takers and it would be a good fit if you like fun cartoons and mnemonics to help you to memorize organisms and drugs. If you have good prior knowledge from your previous exams in India, the book may help you to consolidate the key points for the USMLE (I would use it with FA).
