Default Conrad Fischer for Kaplan Physiology

Did you guys find him useful ?
I've been watching his lectures and find them to be very unprofessional He gets distracted and goes off topic!

Is this the best physiology source or would doing BRS be better? I feel like with the Kaplan Videos i tend to pay more attention since its someone teaching me but Im having a hard time concentrating in his videos. May be because I just started and am not used to his way of teaching

Edit: Well I've watched his videos for the first couple chaptesr of physio now and Im getting more used to it and having fun while watching them lol I was annoyed earlier by the fact that his teaching style was distracting me but now I see how its so interactive and keeps you awake !!

Last edited by Hope2Pass; 04-04-2011 at 09:57 PM. Reason: Watched more videos.

I donīt know if you read the book...but u have less than 80 pages of "real content" (more like a novel though), and then u have the qs...and they are actually pretty simple (if you read the previous chapters first)...

The thing about The Fish is that he takes some getting used to. At first I really hated him and felt he wasted so much of my time and, to be fair, he really does waste quite a bit of time going on tangents and making jokes, but he is really good. He teaches the material well and gets you to understand it. One of my best lectures, though, is when he isnt even talking about the subject at hand. I cant remember which video it was, but Conrad Fisher just spends a good 10-15 minutes talking about the importance of step 1 and how the whole process works, and how we should postpone if we arent ready. I just found it so useful and I was grateful for it.

But yeah, back on topic. He takes some getting used to but he is well worth it!

I never liked his style. Costanzo has always been my #1 resource and explains things beautifully. BRS is rather summarized but it's definitely the source to use if you're strained for time.

Then again we all have our own preferences. Whatever works for us.

I prefer Wazir Kudrath. Kudrath always makes his lecture into an outline, and that's how I process information. I find it more organized than how Fischer presents the physiologic concepts.

I watched his kaplan videos.

In your leisure time you can watch it. He is funny, makes you laugh with lots of jokes. For academıc puposes dont waste your time with these videos. İt is not organızed well and distracts alot.

Watch it once to get the basics but I am quite sure we have the basics...Do BRS Physio really good book and lecture notes from Kaplan that is enough

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that I like him people should teach like him but there is a BUT he is cool for step 2 but I dont think he focuses much in STEP1 although motivates people in the starting videos...so go watch them if you need motivation

Same thing here, guys. Initially, I thought "what a retard?".
Later on I realized how talented the guy is.
Not too happy about his MTB books for giving scars amount of material.

However, watching his videos I lately started noticing one thing more and more - he frequently scratches his nostrils and having some itchiness.

So what do you think, was he high while recording those videos (Kaplan steps, e.g. physio, internal medicine)? I mean, if a random person acts like that that would be the first impression.
