Default my 219 experience

Just got the scores - 219

I am IMG and it took me 1 year and 4 months to get to this point where I'm today.

Used Kaplan lectures + notes (exept physiology BRS and pathology goljan + audio)

during last 3 months was doing FA + qbanks

NBME 15 - 217 - 4 months out
NBME 16 - 234 - 3 weeks out
NBME 13 + UW SA 2 - 243 , 247 - 2 weeks out
NBME 7 - 236 - 1 week out

yeah, I know there is no ****ing correlation between my actual score and NBME results and that's exactly what disappointed me but anyway I'm happy

So I'm open for you questions

Default Equations !

Your months of work paid off .. Congats

I might be going for the exam within a month or so , I want to revise all equations (whether it be behavioural ones or pharm etc ) but it is all scattered around .
Have you seen somewhere with a list of the formulas so that i can skim through all of them

it is a good score dont worry!!My question is Did you find real exam much more harder than nbme 's or it was the silly mistakes and exam anxiety who masked your real performance?

I think both.

the exam felt harder, but on the other hand I know I screwed up in several blocks because of anxiety.

Question CONGRATS!!!! few questions

i think for ANY of the top residencies you still need step2ck score and cs first pass to get an idea to see where you stand, try to nail step2 ck and i think that will increase your possibilities, and also you need USCE but im sure you already know that.

its a good score congrats.
i have couple of qs, what was your approach last 2 weeks??
what % of the test could be answered solely on FA + UWORLD??
where the questions more twisted that nbme 16?? how did you find it compared to that form?

thanks in advance, and good luck on your next steps.

Yes, if I had to start everything all over again I would do pathology with goljan.

forgot to mention that I also used pathoma while reviewing.

overall goljan + pathoma is all you need

here's how I lived for last 2 weeks:

wake up at 7:15 am
have breakfast before 7:30 and rest for 30 minutes
start studying at 8:00am doing 3 blocks random mode(2 without breaks than 10 minute break and last one) go over every single question I marked or answered wrongly with FA) Eat something at 1:00 continue studies at 2:00 this time I am doing one of the topic from FA, usually the one I think I have troubles with. sometimes I manage to do 2 topics that day. I have 10 minute breaks after every 50 minutes. from 6:00 to 8:00 eating family time etc. and than from 8:00 till 10:00 FA again, or maybe UW questions from the blocks I did earlier that morning

the exam was the worst experience in my life, I wish I had managed my anxiety better, that day is so clouded in my mind that I can hardly remember more than 5 questions so really my judgment is solely based on the feeling I had after the exam and it was bad. So I can't really tell you what's the comparison between NBME and the actual exam. I remember that I would mark 15 or more, and had that constant feeling that I was answering wrongly, and that feeling that every single question had that twisted idea I couldn't get, even those questions I was sure about.

drpisho what do you mean in % of the test could be answered solely on FA + UWORLD

"i dont know what to do to cope with it". NEVER say that again. trust yourself, be confident. you will go in there, it's unavoidable, you will be nervous, that's normal. Be confident, remember how hard you worked. trust yourself!

there will be wtf questions, don't let them bring you down just guess and move on, never think about previous blocks, just concentrate on what's in front of you, be professional.

congratulations for your score and thank you for this honest post.

I really want to ask myself too. Do you believe the questions could be covered adequately with FA and uworld and if yes, at what extent?

Default Score prediction controversies !!

Hi Guys
Good Luck for your upcoming exam step1/2 CK

Someone ,Can you please enlighten me about prediction! USWA overpredics the score and NBME undermines the efficiency!

There are 322 question in step 1 with some markless/dummy questions, must have more than 60% correct answer to pass...... roughly correlates 192 excluding dummy questions .

Anyone please add your valuable input................

If someone score 35+ in Each block(46 questions block).......the predicted score for NBME 210 and for USWA 244......mathematical prediction/calculation 239(...considering some dummy questions).

What exactly is it in real exam?

*Is it based on number or proportion of incorrect answers?
* Is it based on number or proportion of total correct answers?

My USWA 1,2 and NBME 7,13,15 score varies from 223 lowest to 241 highest.

did you felt the same way...cz many of them say exam as kind of out of fa and uworld...plz give your views bout this egarding ur exam experience
