Unhappy Nbme 6: 370/191

So disappointed! This is my first self assessment test, but I was hoping to score at least 200 at this point. So far I think my prep has been pretty unstructured (studying on and off for the past 2 weeks), mostly reading through FA and doing Kaplan Qbank, I am definitely going to have to get more serious.
I am supposed to take the test in five weeks, it looks like I may have to push it back since my goal is a 99. Haven't read Goljan or any Kaplan books as yet either, super weak in biochemistry & immunology.... waaahhhhhh!!!

OK done with my whining now, I'd appreciate any suggestions

Ps. how representative are the questions in this form of the real thing?

Hey heights, for only 2 weeks of studying, your mark is nothing to worry about
You can only go up from here Even though I haven't taken my test yet...I did find the UW and FA combo most high yield in improving my NBME scores.
You can always add in extra resources for your weak spots. You've been helping guide all of us for months now and have been so sweet I know if you work really hard these next 5 weeks, you can get that 99.
Just keep at it and remember you can only go up and its up to you how high you want to go
Goodluckkk heights!

Thanks Nicki, I really needed to hear that! I haven't started UW yet, so hopefully as you say that will push my scores up.

Keep Pushing! just keep doing questions, questions, questions... and even more questions. The amount u should do before you do your usmle is approx 10000.

Kaplan recommends it's students to get there mark of 210+ on the nbme in order to write the USMLE immediately. For students getting 190-209.. its up 2 ya if u want 2 write the exam or not.. But dont give up!

Arrggh, did NBME 5 today and only scored 450/210. Almost 8 weeks of studying and barely improved 20 points. Plus I can only study 3-4 hours per day since I started classes again and don't have much time. Trying to balance reading FA, doing flashcards, and UW but it's been pretty tough so I gave up the flashcards. I think that was a bad decision becauase on this test my pharmacology went down because I couldn't remember many of the drugs.

Thats exactly how I feel, the stupid pharma is killing us!

Although I think I've gotten better in Pathology, Biochem, and Physio.. I guess we have to lose something in order to gain something else

You posted originally that your exam was in 5 weeks (in april), did you get your exam postponed?

Good luck, i'm sure you'll do well!
