Default ABO antibodies!

I was going past the blood groups today and it seems simple enough since I learned these in highschool (and a billion times since)

This time I stumbled upon a problem, which most likely has a simple answer. I'm just not seeing it.

Say you have someone with group A: A antigen on RBC surface and anti-B antibody in the plasma.

On wikipedia it states that the antigen is made before birth and the antibodies are made in the first year of life. What stimulates this production? Don't you need to be exposed to a B antigen to produce anti-B antibodies?

Also why don't people with Rh- also produce Rh antibody in the first year of life? (mothers only produce if exposed to blood during birth)
