Planning How to manage time and go through all big stuff...

i m wondering bout managing time to take full prep for step1 ..

1) Kaplan lectures notes
2) Kaplan lectures videos
3) Live lectures
4) DIT videos
5) FA, GOLJAN, BRS, CMMRS(micro, immuno, etc), Q BANK, U WORLD, LANGE quiz, ...etc
6) group/combined study @ skype(IM) etc
7) Seeking CME/ELECTIVES/RESEARCH/ACLS/PALS,/LORs, ...etc

esp for IMGs its big deal to manage time correctly and share strategies with each other

If u want to get good score what should be done especially when you have done nothing (like ELECTIVES/RESEARCH/CME) before...

what things should be done preferably in short of time (4-5 months)
so how u guys think of it.????

Hey, I kinda did some or most of the stuff that you listed above in 4 months. I was up all day for like 16 hours is how I got it all done. I listened to goljan for 1 week (first week of Jan). I then watched ALL the kaplan videos by end of Feb. Along with doing all of this I always had my FA and made notes in there. I also did UWorld almost everyday. In March I went over certain topics that I felt I was weak in or didnt fully understand. I started doing more UWorld. in April I skyped with a friend of mine and went over topics together in FA. So we pretty much talked everything out and wow that was so much help! After that I started doing DIT. I actually feel pretty confident and good as of now. My exam is in less than 2 weeks. So its possible to do everything in 4 months you just have to be awake 16 hours a day :P And of course take lots of breaks and an evening or day off here n there.

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it! = )

I know! lol i didn't think I was able to do it either...But I pushed myself. And I have nothing else to do so I figured why not give it my all. I figured look its only these 4 months out of my whole life that I just need to give it my all and put everything aside. The only time I went out was for doc appointments or an evening off with my family. Otherwise I stayed home and studied all day long. BUT with a lot of short breaks.

I did have days of burning out but it was rare. I do get burnt out though haha and then I'd take a power nap to clear my head n stuff or go shower again.

As for the last few days left, I am running on coffee and red bull haha

The whole 16 hours, Id say a total of 12 hours was my real solid studying, again because of the breaks and such.

There were days here n there where I'd sleep in.. but I'd make it up for the hours I was awake and do effective studying.

In my last few days, I am trying to take it easy BUT at the same time trying to make sure I use every opportunity possible to keep on going. But again trying to balance out not getting burnt out! I am thinking of taking 2 days off before my exam. I'm already making plans to go out n stuff!!

But yeah! Its totally possible if you really want to do it!!
