Warning! Step 1 Score ... 84

Hi Everybody,

I am an IMG from India graduated in 2009. I took my step 1 in Feb and got 84/203.
I don't know how this happened.. I am sure of getting at least 90 as I felt the exam is easy.... I heard from my seniors that getting 84 in step 1 and getting residency is next to impossible.... So, kindly advise me..what are my chances of getting residency with this score...
I m about to give step 2 CK in 2-3 months...
I have No LOR's till now....

Plz advise .....

You have a very good chance on getting a residency.... It depends on how well you do your next steps, try and get a 90+ on CK and pass CS first try.

You can get LOR a few months before you start applying.... Are you in USA now?

Well you still have ck and cs to do plus US LORs will help, don't be discouraged at all, it might be hard, but not impossible.

Could you please tell us more about your prep? Like uworld scores, NMBEs etc?

Stop worrying.. start studying for step 2 ck. I'm sure there are plenty of chance to get the residency in US. I am sure one day I'll see you practicing in one of the US hospital and making hell lot of money...

Believe in yourself that you can do it and keep work on it. One day you and all of us will succeed.
