Hey ! When you say you did kaplan the first time around...does that mean you did all the videos?

I recommend you do all the Kaplan videos with FA. After each topic is completed lets say pharm cardio, do pharm cardio on UWorld etc and so forth.

After you are done with all the Kaplan videos, go through your FA with UWorld questions everyday.

Once you are done with that, take an assessment exam.

Once done with that...then see where your weaknesses are.

I have a feeling you are just memorizing stuff. Memorizing is the last stage in Step 1 studying in my opinion. You have to understand everything first and Kaplan videos help you do that.

I then recommend you to do DIT, because then it will help you go through all of FA.

So mainly FA & Uworld. But you need to do Kaplan videos and possibly goljan to understand everything.

Hope this helps.

sorry to hear you failed before. Look my friend, you can do 1000 nbmes and you score will not improve if your concepts are not established. You see this exam involves 3 things: 1. understanding of concepts 2. Ability to recall(meomory) and 3. Qs to see how they ask concepts in question stem. No short cuts to these three. If one neglects either of these, they will have a problem. I thing your problem is understanding of pathology, physio, pharm, biochem and neuro. In my opinion these are concept oriented subjects and if you dont study them right your score will not improve if you only memorize. The only way to doing well in this exam is to integrate subjects and to do this your concepts have to improve. My advice to you is go over Kaplan videos of these subjects and you will be fine. Trust me man it's better to fail than to get low score and think you know so much and come residence time you get problems in managing the patients. Good medicine practice stems from good basic science foundation. gl and let me know if you need help.
