Planning First Aid + UW Explanations + MedEssentials = Enough or Not?

Is it enough to study only from the First Aid & Kaplan Med essential + the explanations of the UW and get high score in step 1 exam (without Kaplan notes and videos)...
plz share your opinions and experiences...

Thanks

Default It might work for you!

It depends on your background.
If you are a medical student with fresh knowledge it might be enough.

I suggest you try to do it for Microbiology for example then do Kaplan Qbank Microbiology questions only and if you get more than 65% then it means it's working for you and you can go ahead with it.

P.S : the materials u have listed here is useful only if u have a good grasp on all the basic subjects .Do a NBME assessment. see how much u score ...if you are managing > or = 200 then you are Golden to do so

could u be more specific

If its for step 1....not enough at all ! and if its for step 2 ck , kaplan notes are the best.......and i think MTB is better ......check out the polls and recent comments regarding the latter in the same thread

Now, do what I told you in Anatomy.
Read Anatomy in FA only and then do Kaplan Qbank anatomy 2 blocks, am sure you find yourself deficient and you have to go back to KLN

Default Witchdr

Ok I assume u did not use FA and just did one read of the kaplan initially, understood the concepts but did not memorize the high yield topics from FA and the videos

Being an old grad i would suggest u to make a plan based on Zumzum method....

Kaplan -do a first read -just to get a basic idea, see the video ,add extra notes, and do a second read to under the concepts and basics .....then Study FA and memorize the high yield from there [ Note that Memorizing of FA should be done after understanding the contents from Kaplan ]

Start a Qbank subscription or Have good Qbooks for each subject [prefereably kaplan Qbank ] after eaxh chapter do teh related Qs to consolidate the concepts anf again read FA

So since u started with Physio .... Complete the kaplan Physio qbank, then after patho ...start doing physio, pathoand patho-physio....and keep on adding the topic u finsih in the random mode
