Question Qbank Rollercoaster

Ok so I know when people post their Kaplan Qbank scores they always seem to be high...but I'm not the only one, I hope, that has good days and bad days.

Some days I score in the high 60's even 70's, and others (like today) I get a 41 on a block and it throws me off!!! It doesn't help that the avg. person got a 50 in that same block...I take that to mean that the block was harder than normal since most blocks say avg score is around 60+

I guess I'm just venting, and hope I'm not the only one that has good and bad days...

My step is in a month and half away, so yea, I need to stay consistently up!

I've taken 1 NBME so far, and I have both Kaplan and Uworld.

My school makes us taken a Kaplan review course, and we are required to pass a either a midterm or a final to get signed off and take our USMLE Step 1.

The course started March 14th, and we took our Midterm April 14th. I passed the midterm so I can now start studying on my own w/o having to be forced to sit in on kaplan lectures for 8 hours a day, although I still have the option of attending classes, since the kaplan review course isn't over till May 27th.

My cumulative right now in Kaplan Qbank is 63, and I've done about 50% of the bank, so I don't know if doing the rest is worth while, or if I should just jump back on to Uworld.

I took NBME form 1 before Kaplan started and it gave me a score of 200 I think, I need to check, but I figure that's ok for not having started my focused study. I'm hoping when I do my next NBME form in 2 weeks, that I will have improved significantly. So yea..that's all I can say for now.

Oh ok thats nice. I think you should sit in the kaplan classes! But it depends when you want to write the exam. If you want to write it soon and study materials different than kaplan then you should do that. If not then another month of kaplan will give u a thorough review of everything and after that may be you can go over Uworld and do some more NBME's to see where you stand.

Default Is it the case in Mexico!

Hey Andy,
I noticed that you are from Mexico.
Just out of curiosity, is it like that across all Mexican Med Schools, they all ask to do Kaplan!
