Cockroach malaria resistance in blood disorders

can someone pleaseee explain how in HBS , G6PD and thalasemia there is resistance to malaria..??? i read it somewhere like a month ago and cant recall the concept.. have my exam in a week and its bothering me now...

in basic terms, the malaria bug need the RBC for their life cycle, but in people with anemia, their RBCs are being destroyed quicker than the normal RBC life span, therefore the malaria bugs cant live out their full life cycle.....thats for mainly heterozygotes that have a selective survival advantage in endemic areas
