Hello everyone,
I have a major issue which is laziness. I cannot sit still and study anymore because I have been doing this for over a year and my nbme is good because they are all over 500 but still I am not studying like a maniac which I feel I should be. I can not finish this up nicely and take exam because I do not know what to do to study 14 hours a day. I stay home all day and get distracted easily. I go on forums too much. I dont know how to fix this. I only study 10 hours a day. What can I do?

My advice is to relocate. Even if its within your house. Change it up every once in a while. Sit on the dining table, sit outside, change your room around. Also if going on forums is a distraction, leave your laptop in the room and sit away from it. That is what I usually do, so I cant even look anything up. When I do have to look things up, I will make a note of it and look it up when I go back where my laptop is. Or I use my iPhone, and you can't be on there too long cuz its annoying lol So my advice mainly is to find a new BRIGHT atmosphere with a lot of lighting, drink some red bull :p, take a nice cold shower, start fresh and think positive.

And its not bad if you study 10 hours. Its not about how many hours you can study the longest, its about how efficiently you can use your time. So if you are up 14 hours and study only 10 by wasting 4 hours thats not bad.

I also recommend you take frequent breaks. Take a 10 minute break every hour, walk around, watch something funny, call someone, download some funny shows and laugh. Laughter is the best !

Wow Cautie that was some amazing advice. Every point you gave is true. Thank you so much! I really want to try it all out. My other question is, should I join a program like pass? My friend is doing it because she is out of motivation too. It sounds like a good idea to me. What do you guys think? I really need to think it out before I go ask my parents.

Hmm you know I dont really know how the PASS program works. But I have seen it on forums, and it does seem to be some what popular. Honestly I would recommend like watching Kaplan videos along with FA, doing some Goljan if you dont understand path all that well and then of course doing UWorld. I have done DIT and I highly recommend DIT and watch it like in the last month of your reviewing when you are done studying!
