Star Please help!

Hi fellow step takers!

although this is my 1st post, i have been a regular visitor to this wonderful forum for more than a year now...about myself, i'm an IMG, graduated last year and have been preparing for step 1 for a year now...i have read kaplan once(videos + books), goljan once(wasted too much time on it and finally realized i didnt retain much), pathoma twice, fa once (currently reading for the 2nd time...halfway through), u world 65% done (used to score in 40s, now scoring in high 60s and 70s).

i took nbme 15 and 7 in march and scored in 190s and 180s in them...was very unhappy and postponed to june...took nbme 13 in last week of may and scored again in the 190s...almost went into depression (i thought i could score much better)..somehow gathered courage and continued prep...i took nbme 16 on june 9th and scored 224 (i think i didnt perform well in 13)....i have postponed again and now my exam is on 9th june.

i need your suggestions guys...how do you think i should proceed?i want to score more than 240...is it possible??

Default Dr who?

Hello

You do realise today is June 11th, right? how are you going to take it June 9th? do you have a tardis?

Well I would start by taking the results and highlighting the systems and subjects with the poorest scores, the ones that has the lowest bars. I would go over those areas on Kaplan LN and watch some videos if necessary while continuing to take timed-mode qbanks that includes all the subjects, not just the ones you are reviewing, you can start from that (y).

LOL
if only i had a time machine!!

i meant july 9th...i will do what you suggested...i'm planning to give one final fa read from 1st july...and till then just keep doing questions (after finishing my 2nd read of fa)...how does that sound?

also do u think i should do u world again or switch to some other q bank?
if i had to choose another q bank, which one would be better and would i be able to complete it??

thanks for replying coliris!

Lol, ok I thought so
Ok, do that! read FA again and qbanks. Some people like taking Uworld more than once, since it is an excellent learning tool. Also take another NBME to see where you are standing, and if you score poor then I might suggest rescheduling your test, it's better than having a low score or failing, but let's hope you don't need to do that.

Good luck!

i'm almost out of nbmes
will take one at the end of this month...as for postponing, i have no intention of doing that...i'm at the edge of a burnout

so u think i should just be thorough with u world and fa...and revise the topics i'm poor in...?

let's hope that will be sufficient, what with the change in question pool and tough exams these days!!

thanks a lot!! wish you all the best!!!
