Listening Anticipated Step 1 exam changes?

I recently found out that step 1 exam pool is going to change from July. What exactly is going to change, can anyone throw light on this matter?
From what I've heard there's going to be expansion of immunology, does it mean more questions from immuno and genetics, will Kaplan immunology review suffice for the new change or do I have to read immuno from other immunology books??

I talked to a US medical school professor about it and he said this
"No changes, send me the link to the official announcement?"

So is he right or wrong?

Do we have a link to an official announcement that there will be content changes and emphasis on immunology?

My question is, will the questions just be from immuno? Because I'm sure if your concepts are clear you will be fine. The thing that worried me was on SDN the AMGs are talking about them removing easy gimme questions and questions that review courses hit hard on. I don't know where they got this info form, but is it true?

I think what people are assuming might be true. Of course the immuno part is true. There will be a lot more immuno clinically related. But they are also taking out old questions and putting in a new pool of questions. Just like they did last time, they added more longer, a lot more clinically relevant questions. So I think its totally good to assume that yeah there will be new questions and yes probably a bit more challenging. I am not trying to scare anyone but from the times theyve changed stuff on the exam its gotten more difficult in the sense that question stems got longer and more clinically relevant. But either way if you study your butt off, shouldnt worry!!

But last year that was the main change right? They specifically said--longer vignettes. But this time since they are saying more immuno, is there a chance that that is all they will add?

I think that as long as our concepts are good, we'll be fine. I really dont want to head back to those long books...

Unhappy

but if they ask immuno questions of phd level there is nothing we can do, right?
If they intend to make the questions real real hard then we can't possibly know the answer irrespective of what review books we use.......

until now kaplan, levinson and HY were the best. What about now??

Are they going to increase the NUMBER of questions too???!!

i guess they'll only be increasing the number of questions and not the level of difficulty.
