Star High Yield Step 1 Review Notes (1863 Notes)

Attaching High Yield Step 1 Review Notes which I found very useful...

I got it from one of my friends and I don't know where he got it.

But it helped me a lot..

[sorry if there are errors and spelling mistakes in the notes. I managed some how]

Wow. This is great. Have you taken Step 1 already? Did you see a lot of this stuff on the test (if it wasn't in first aid)

Thanks for this... although I dont get this:

Quote:
defect in microtubules and phagocytics. You see severe gingivitis and oral mucosal ulceration PLUS albinism on the skin. Secondaries: What is the disease, what two bugs eat at you, and what is the first drug you reach for?

Here is Chediak-Higashi disease (not too common). But you get strep and staph infections and you treat with Acyclovir. The KEY to this diagnosis is the mouth stuff and hypopigmentation!
Why are you treating a bacterial organism [most common] with an anti-viral?

@patelmd

As I already said there are mistakes and errors in the notes...but as per your question I think he is treating the oral infections with acyclovir not the bacterial infections..but I am not sure..we can always refer if we have doubts, but this notes helped me in learning few high yield things through clinical approach.
