During a well fed state (i.e after a meal), the cardiac muscle utilizes energy from the fatty acids.

I started a new thread so everyone can see the picture - Very Useful Biochemistry Table; Liver, Muscle, Heart, Fat, and Brain Sources of energy in fed state and in starvation
