Help Exam in 5 days; Should I take it?

hello friends,

I really need your help. please respond just even 1 line will be enough.

I have done
NBME 6: 270
NBME 4: 290
and today NBME 7: 310 (approx usmle score 177 according to the table)

Please do tell me should I go for the exam? I have it scheduled in 5 days time. I really want to get over it. A just pass is also fine for me. Please advice.

I have read Kaplan lecture notes (1 time)
did Kaplan Q bank online (84% completed)
and I think only half of USMLE world (still have like 1200 Q left to do)

I don't know what should I do to increase my score?
I have read Goljan rapid review text book (1 time)
haven't listened to his audios.

Will I be safe if I do the my usmle exam? At least a pass score?
plz help

I haven't taken the exam but I would say that you are cutting it very close... If I were you I wouldn't risk it. That's just my opinion though... Good luck!

Hi,
if I were in your shoes, I would postpone definitely
310 / 800 (which is the max) is not a good score my friend and NBME 7 is predictive for the real USMLE score

maybe you should review some subjects before going to the exam,
better safe than sorry good luck; I hope you'll make the good decision

i'd rather fail by a little bit then to JUST pass with a 188-190. with your low NBME scores, definitely postpone your USMLE. Master FA and understand UWorld explanations, and take another NBME.

Warning!

Don't take the exam. If you take it you'll fail.

Read KLN 2nd time
Finish Kaplan Qbank
Finish USMLE World
Read FA

You need at least another 2 months of prep.

Stop Do not take it in 5 days!

If you take it, you will most likely fail. The NBME's are very good predictors, and right now they predict you will fail. Here is a plan I would suggest for you: read FA very carefully while doing questions. Each chapter you read, do a bunch of questions in that topic. http://gunnertraining.com is free for a month if you need extra practice questions. You also definitely want to complete UW and go over the answers very carefully (even the ones you get right).
Good luck!

Default HI

HOw are u Dr. P.
I think you need to do a review of your study plan.. and most likely set up the date of the exam a while from now, I mean, a just pass is not going to get you good positions; if any at all. Would it be possible to extend the date of your exam one, two months or longer? so that you can get better prepared. I would if I were in your position.
Good luck.

Default thnkx for the reply

his my frnds, thanks for the reply.

i still have the option of extending the exam for another 3 months (block)
from Jun- Augest.

but do u think my paper work will be done soon if i request for the extension?
Because i heard that my medical school has to forward some papers to ecfmg and stuff. and i have no idea how long will that take?

please let me know, if it is easy to extend the exam...and how about the request form and procedure to do an extension..plz

and i guess majority of the people are saying dont take the exam now???
can any 1 please suggest and better study schedule for me? would really appretiate it.

I have done kaplan notes reading only 1 time and gone to FA like 2 times every sub and hv done DIT also.

now basically have been doing only Uworld Q and reviewing fa...
but looks like i need a change in my plan..

PLease do let me know.
thanks

what everyone else said.
I've known people who got 12-20pts higher than NBME and barely passed.
I've also known people who got about 200-210s (3 digit USMLE scores) on NBMEs and failed. They got like 20-30pts less than their NBME!!!
Way too risky.
Its not about what you have done, but what you are retaining from what you have done.
