Woman with 7 week history of palpitations and SOB. pulse is 116/min, and respiration is 25/min.
o/e- non palpable thyroid and no exophthalmos
TSH- 0.01
Ft4- 2.6 ng (N is0.8-2.4)
I123 uptake is <1% (N is 8-2.4)
thyroglobulin <0.5
Thyroglobulin Ab <0.5

What is the underlying cause?
1. exogenous intake of levothyroxine
2. lymphocytic infiltration
3. mutation activation of TSH
4. Stimulation of cytokine of B lymphocytes against thyroid antigens
5. tumor production of b-hcG

1.exogenous

1.Free T4 high with decreased uptake and low thyroglobulin is s/o exogenous thyroid intake...

Free T4 high with decreased uptake also occurs in initial stages of thyroiditis causing transient self limited hyperthyroidism but that will be with a high TBG I guess
