It's a good idea.
Thousands of International Medical students are applying while still in college.

By the way, ALL of AMGs apply to step 1 while in med school.

Can you please stop fussing over this. Do you seriously think that they're gonna judge on your years of medical education? NO. They'll only give you your score on the basis of what you have retained. Is there a gurantee that if you appear in the exam after graduation then you'll get a 99? NO. Is your knowledge fresher than a grad sitting at home for 10 years? YES. The next time anyone says that you shouldn't be preparing for step 1 while you're still a med student, ask them a couple of questions from basic sciences, you'll see where they stand and you'll see what good graduation has done to them.

I know lots of people who aced the exam and suggest studying while still med students. Rather I haven't met anyone who has given step 1 and aced it and suggested against studying as med students. Just stop listening to people who discourage you, it'll do you a lot of good.
