Question Heart Disease Risk Factor Question

Which of following ppl have more risk to develop heart disease..

1)a person who has one brother with heart disease
2)a person who has two bothers with heart disease
3)a person who has two sisters with heart disease
4)a person who has one sister with heart disease

its about sisters man
if u got one then u are at risk if two then more if three then @ more risk as compared to brother..

so the answer is 3) a person who has two sisters with heart disease

why is it about the sister ??? Does gender play a role in inheriting heart disease ?

we can assess recurrence risk for multifactorial diseases by a criteria..one of which is..

the recurrence risk increases if the affected individual is a member of less commonly affected sex..which in this case is female...

chance of heart disease are lower in females but if u do have two sisters with heart disease then ur chances of having heart disease is more as compared to the case if u have two brothers with heart disease

it is important to remember that some of other multifactorial diseases may show opposite scenerio...
