Singapore Singapore Medical Student starting step 1 Prep

Hi,

Student from Singapore who signed up for USMLE Step 1. was wondering with 4-5 months towards exam and with the bulk of the time involved in clinical attachments, anyone has any suggestion as to how to start/ create a study plan? Looking at the amount of knowledge is really overwhelming...and really don't know where to start.

The university only has the Kaplan Qbook does not seem to have Kaplan lectures/audio. Is there anywhere we can find the audio streamed online?

Would using BRS be sufficient? Does studying in detail from the BRS/Katzung's Review/ Goljan's Rapid Review be a suitable alternative to Kaplan lecture notes/audio lectures? of course, i am highly reliant on FA.

Thank you.

Much of the stuff in BRS (except for physio, which is quite good), is not high yield. I'd stick to Kaplan if I were you. Yes, the videos are available for free online. There are no audios of Kaplan, however Goljan has audios. All of this stuff is available online for free.

Idea! Getting USMLE Books in Singapore

Hi jackstraw,

am from Singapore too

I purchased the Kaplan Lecture Notes from Amazon.com, links to all versions are available here
Kaplan Lecture Notes For USMLE Step 1 Exam

Shipping from Amazon to Singapore takes 2 weeks, but the books come in excellent condition (brand new).

I also got Goljan RR and BRS physio and HY-Neuro from Amazon.

Kaplan videos are available from the net (just keep searching Google every day) or if you have the money you can buy Kaplan OnlinePrep

Also, right now am doing Kaplan Qbank and it has many nice video lectures.

Good luck
