Clock Enough Time on the real USMLE Step 1 Exam?

Hello!

So I was just wondering how rushed you were for the time in the real USMLE step 1 exam, compared to the Kaplan, NBME, and World qbanks.
I feel that usually I finish these qbanks with enough time to spare, but I've heard rumors/truths that people barely finish the real exam because they are pressed for time.

I would love to hear some feedback from those of you that have taken it!

Thanks,

I voted for the second option.

I think in the exam, your adrenalin shoots and you will be super human, so even though the question might be harder or longer than what you see in Kaplan or UW but your performance would be more powerful and you rise to the occasion

I felt there was ample time.
Barring one or two blocks that had a greater number of tricky questions than the rest, I could finish most of them in time, with time to revise. I finished and revised 3 blocks with around 10-15 minutes to spare (though I did worry about that too, thinking if I'm doing something wrong, and went over them again and again).

So I think if you go about it the right way, you won't fall short of time.
I'd first respond to all the questions I knew the answers to, and mark the ones I wasn't too sure of (even though I believe your first instinct is right in most cases) , then I'd answer the ones I had skipped, then take a 2nd look at the marked ones, and finally go over the entire block one last time.

Hope that helps.

Woow, am surprised about the poll results
I did not have enough time to finish any block, I missed 2-3 questions from each block

Warning! it will always depend of yourself...

the exam experience is quite different...
when i practiced, i always tried to take only a minute or less in questions, but, in the real exam, i didn't want to make "silly" mistakes because i didn't read carefully the questions or because of the rush i missed an important key word, i actually was MAKING SURE i picked the right answer and not the one above or below, things that didn't happen while i was practicing... because... your brain already knows it's only a practice... but the REAL EXAM is the only one shot you have to give your best!!! although that's a double wedge weapon... because then... when you find that kind of questions where you'll need more than 76 seconds, and you know you only have 3 minutes left for that particular block... it's a pressure, and eventually, i made silly mistakes with those questions that i knew, but i didn't have the time to find out the right answer
