Planning Suggestion for summer study plan

Hi everyone

I need help with putting together my summer study plan.

Background:
Average student finishing third semester of med school in Europe. Plan to take Step 1 in June 2012. I got KLN and videos, Kaplan QBook, and Kaplan QBank (subscription until Feb 2012). I have already read KLN a few chapters from almost every subjects along with videos during my second and third semesters. (e.g., about 50% of KLN Biochem, a few chapters from rest of the KLN except Behavioral Science) Other resources I plan to use are BRS Physio, BRS Patho, Goljan, Robbin QBook, Guyton QBook, FA and Pretest question books for different subjects.

Study Plan:
I have allocated about 700 hours over 13 weeks. I plan to spend about 80 hours on Anatomy and Biochem. For Physio and Patho, my plan is to spend as much as I can on those two areas. Rest of the KLN, I think 100 hours each will be more than enough. Of course, days and hours are not definite and fixed. I have additional 5 full days for padding if I need to. My plan is to finish KLN and videos at least one time along with decent amount of practice questions. I need to do questions as I read. Otherwise I won't retain much.

I am imagining my typical day would start with 4 hours of KLN reading. After an hour break, I will watch 3 hours of videos corresponding to my earlier reading. After another hour of lunch break, I will cap my day with another 3 hours of practice questions. Here I am not sure what kind of resources to use. Should I do Qbook as I read? Or use other resources like Pretest for practice questions?

I also need your help to answer.....should I start doing Kaplan QBank after first or second read? How can I assess myself if I am ready for QBank? When should I start working on UW? When and how I should incorporate FA into my reading? Is it a good idea to read FA together with KLN?

Any feedback and advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Some time ago, a person wrote on this forum that when he transitioned from KLN to FA, he couldn't really adjust and had a very hard time. So its a good idea to do FA with the first read of KLN. As for the questions, does your KLN have questions after every chapter? If yes, do them. If no, get an older version of KLN. They used to have questions after every chapter. My KLN don't have those and I got the questions copied from an earlier book. As for Qbook, start it from the second read of KLN. Start UW after you're done with KLN and FA.

Eesfee, thanks for your suggestion.

Yes, my KLN's have questions at the end of each chapter.

As you said, if I start QBook with my second read of KLN, when should I start on QBank? After second read and before UW?

Thanks again.
