Default ASD vs VSD auscultation sound

Hi everyone!
I have a slight confusion with the theory of heart sounds.

In an ASD, the blood shunts from the left to right and has a split S2 sound on auscultation. In a VSD the blood shunts from the left to right also, shouldnt there be a delay in the pulmonic valve closure here as well?

I think of it as being the same theory, just the defect is in different spots. At the end there will be an increase in volume in the right atrium(ASD), or in the right ventricle(VSD). So if there would be a delay in the pulmonic valve closure in an ASD, why not VSD?
