MusculoSkeletal C5-6-7 Raise your wings (hands) to heaven!

Remember that the long thoracic nerve arises from the 5,6, and 7 cervical nerves, and innervates the serratus anterior. Serratus anterior protracts the scapula (like when you're punching something), stabilizes the scapula, and rotates the scapula upward so you can lift your arm at the shoulder joint. Injury to the long thoracic nerve cause winging of the scapula.
