Smile 6 important "P" for Neurofibromatosis type 1(Von Recklinghausen Disease)

1) Peripheral nerve benign tumors (Neurofibromas).

2) P21 Ras oncoprotien is no longer inhibited by mutated NF1 gene in Neurofibromatosis.

3) Plexiform neurofibromas are diagnostic.

4) Pigmented skin lesions (Cafe Au Lait) spots.

5) Pigmented Iris hamartomas (Lish Nodules).

6) Pheochromocytoma (& Meningioma) risk is increased.
