Default How many questions need to practice for Step 1?

On one end some students say 1000 is enough on the other end of the spectrum say we have to do more 5000 MCQs before we can safely take USMLE Step 1.

What about you?

Please note that if you read 1000 questions twice, that should count as 1000. So reviewing your qbanks does not count to your total.
What we mean here is how many questions not how many times you repeated the same questions.

When saying doing 4000, does that mean just doing and reading the explanation, or does it include reviewing so as when face with the same question again, we will get it correct?

Sorry for not making that clear.

I added an explanation to the initial post.

Reviewing questions should not count to your total.
