Causes of high Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG):
  • Multiple pregnancy
  • Hydatiform mole
  • Choriocarcinoma
  • Embryonal carcinoma
  • Down syndrome
Causes of low HCG:
  • Ectopic pregnancy
  • Threatened or missed abortion
