Drug Caspofungin Vs Capsaicin

These two drug names may look similar and we might be confused if the tricky USMLE question maker put them both in the options.

Here's a quick encounter:

Capsaicin is in fact the active ingredient of chili pepper! The most common medical use is in peripheral neuropathies and most commonly postherpetic neuralgia.

Caspofungin is a novel antifungal drug that shows good activity against aspergillus. It act by disrupting the cell wall of the fungus.

Default And Voricanazole

Yep, Voricanazole and Caspofungin have replaced Amphotericin in the treatment of Aspergillosis.
