USMLE Step 2 CK Buzzwords Buzzwords that should ring a bell in USMLE Step 2 CK exam.

ObGyn Postcoital Bleeding Differential Diagnosis

Although the "buzzword" postcoital bleeding may no longer be used by the board questions they may still mention it in the form of bleeding after intercourse, sustained bleeding after pelvic exam, or spotting after encounter, ...etc

This buzzword should bring into mind three important DDx for the USMLE exam:
These are
  • Cervical carcinoma
  • Cervical polyps
  • Sexual abuse (spousal abuse)
Of course there are other causes such as atrophic vaginitis, vaginal carcinoma, foreign bodies, cervicitis, injuries and lacerations and rape. But the three mentioned above are the most common and so they most likely to be seen in the exam
