Smile Got ck results-97, my experience!!

Dear friends,

I got my ck results yesterday and my score is 223/97..
during my preparation for the exams I used to always read threads from people who shared their exam experiences and their results in this forum..
It motivated me, cleared my doubts and did help me prepare myself mentally for the big day..
This is one way, even I wanted to help people like me.

So this is what I did....

Started my preparation in January and took my exams in mid May.
Saw Kaplan video lectures in January
I read Kaplan lecture notes, UWorld, and first aid, 2 readings each.
Did all 4 NBME offline.

The exam was very stressful as u all know.. and my paper was tough..
please carry red bull, it works to keep u alert and also to cut down stress. The day I finished my exams I felt I didn't give my best.. and on the day of result, I started thinking crazy :sorry: that I might not pass.. (I had read about the same experience one of the members had posted, so just consoled myself)

The key:
DO NOT PANIC..
Sleep well the night b4 the exam
Read and Revise
Make ur own notes out of u world .

I will be happy to answer any questions..

Gudluck everybody

@ miss patho
i dont think u can split the exam for two days.. its a 9 hr exam with 8 blocks n 45 min break time..

@confident
i did not read any books for trauma r em..
step 1 knowledge is alwys necessary to come up yo the diagnosis n catch the clues.. but most of the Qs want u to be able to answer wats the next best step in management or treatment.. so just make a practice u attack every question that way
gudluck

That's interesting. If this is the case, I suppose everybody will go with this option that I haven't heard!

@1TA2B & juanpablo
block 1 n block 2 -- 3 min break
block 3 -- 3 min beak
block 4 -- 5 min beak.. had a fruit
block 5 -- 20min break... had lunch n red bull
block 6 -- 5 min beak red bull
block 7 -- 5 min break red bull
last 8th block

i had skipped the 15 min tutorial so had that 15 min added to my break time..
n i do recommend the same..
make ur self familiar wid the tutorial now only so that u can hav that time for break
night b4 exams i was very calm.. had completed revision as my plan ..n slept at 11:30pm.

Few Q are real big ,like a whole page n stuff.. real challenge to read it fully but keep urself motivated.. go thru it real fast n answer.. yes they r lengthier than kaplan.. but 75% Q r well to do n not lengthy.
In my last nbme i scored like 80%
gudluck
