Man its a tough exam and to bear it for nine hours itself is an accomplishment and as you have mentioned strong connection( along with USCES ,visa etc) are of prime importance to get matched

Keep in mind that people with 250 and 270's are not the only people that match, congrats on passing you should be proud of yourself.

Exam day was far from ideal and it was full of troubles in addition to shiity exam itself so I never performed up to my limits but manu I have a gut feeling that you have all the potential to cross 260 mark next week

There is a great pdf document and chart for matching statistics of each year with scores, attempts etc., and you can see that only quite few who apply and match do actually have scores over 250. Its all biased here because obviously people with better scores tend to post more often here.

Willpower - you've came this far and honestly a bad score to you could be a 240 based on how most ppl on these forums are but nonetheless I would not forget about residency and would keep going, you've came this far!

Hey willpower. I am so proud for you !!
This is an extremely hard exam - we all know that. Passing this exam in itself is an achievement. There will be so many folks just hoping to see "PASS" on the score report & not care about the score .
Be proud that you did it !!

Default CK Experience

Hey guys,

I received my score yesterday and I scored lower than my UWSA which was 228. I ended up with a 217. At first I was dissapointed because I expected have a score in the 220's. Now I'm happy with my score because it was an improvement from my Step 1.

Just to let people know
NBME 7 170 4 weeks before test
NBME 4 204 10 days before test
UWSA 228 7 days before test

Looking at my improvement within a month, I'm actually happy with my score. Hope my score is an encouragement for those out there who aren't sure whether to take the exam or not.

I remember you from the step 1 thread! I got my ck last week 256. Remember I was complaining about 20 points drop in step 1 from my last nbme. From 271 to 250. Well I underperformed in this too. 9 points drop from my uwsa 265. Nbme 4 260. But I can assure you to stop worrying. You ll do great! And your minimum would be above 255. Mark my words. Best of luck and stop worrying! BTW can u please tell me how competitive is 250/256 with no visa issues! Provided I improve my CV with research and clinical experience!

No! I had to delay my ck due to some issues. Still left with CS. Besides I have always wanted to apply with some publications in hand hopefully! 30-32 qs straight forward. 4-5 needs some lateral thinking. 4-5 weird. You don't have to worry! People with 270 all have same feeling. You will get awesome score!
